Well two days later and the mild headache remains. Dry eyes woke me in the night to put drops in.
We went to my brother's for his party last night but how weird is it to go out with no eye makeup. No one knew me so I guess it wasn't a big deal. We only stayed till 7pm cause we had the kids but I was done.
The big thing for me is the gross crusty eyelashes from the drops and the sticky eyelids. I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to wash them but I hope a gentle q-tipping is OK.
All in all i think I would do it again. I'm interested to see how my vision is at work as this was one of my biggest concerns.
Thanks everyone for the words of support.

almost like new
I did IT, Laser refractive surgery on both eyes. IntraLase Lasik to be exact.
I decided to look into it in March, they said the referral could take up to 6 months. I chose the Gimbel Eye center ans he is the best.
In May I ordered new prescription sunglasses to replace the ones lost in the ocean in Huatulco, I couldn't go thought the summer squinting-not a good look on anyone. Three days later they called with an appointment for June. Too late to stop the glasses although they let me have the non-prescription lenses too.
In June they determined after many eye drops and weird machines that I qualified for all their procedures but the IntraLase Lasik was the best with the shortest healing time.
I booked for September, partly to think about it and mostly because it would prevent swimming during the summer and it gave me three months healing time before Diving in December.
September 7 started early with my getting the boys off to school and Day home, going for groceries, starting in on a big pile of paperwork and giving up as I couldn't concentrate. I also left a sink full of dishes for Dan (Thanks Mom). Then Mum picked me up and we just made it , barely (sure wished either I was driving or I could ask Mum to go faster) They whisked me in for a prescription recheck- to be sure before they lasered into my eyes. Then some more instructions, A prayer with Dr. Gimbel (can't hurt) then off to the pharmacy for a bag full of eye drops. Then to pay, I won't tell you how much but he give Nurses a discount but it still hurt.
I forgot!!! prior to paying they offered me an Ativan to calm my nerves. How much would you like she says? I don't know I say. Well you seem pretty calm how about 1 mg. OK I say. How should I know? the last time I took Ativan I took too much and got sick. (that's another story)
Into a bright room int a dentist like chair (as if I'm not worried now they are bringing up memories of the Dentist) The pick the left eye first, not sure why. Put freezing drops in and proceed to tape my eyelashes out of the way, the girl was new and they had to do it twice, nothing compares to any of this by the way. Then they apply a suction device to your eye 9feels like someone pushing their thumb in your eye until you see stars and then tell you to hold still????
Then they take it off and proceed to the next step, they say it smells like burning hair, eww was that my eye. I'm not looking for a repeat of the suction thingy on the other eye. All in all it took 30 minutes they they taped these clear plastic googly covers over my eyes and sent me home.
Then it was drops after drops into scratchy, burning eyes. I tried to sleep but my left eyelid kept twitching cause a stabbing pain each time. I must have slept because the next thing I knew it was dinner time and I could actually open my eyes without discomfort. After the surgery they tell us no TV, Computer or reading for 12-24 hours. I didn't know really what to do with my self. Dan and I talked a bit then he watched TV while I listened with my eyes closed then I went to bed, Again wearing the googly eye covers. I told Dan he better go to the kids if they cried cause I would scare them.
Today I am 100% better, my eyelids are swollen and my lashes are crusty but my eyes don't hurt. Dry eyes-yes, sensitivity to light-yes, mild headache yes. But clear vision. I can't wait for tomorrow to see the next changes.
Would I do it again? I think so, maybe with a bit more Ativan. I'll have to see how the rest of the healing goes and if I need further enhancements. I'll keep you posted.

Stupid fish
So I casually mention that I'm pretty happy with my little fish tank (set up and abandoned by Dan and Peter, taken over by me). And wouldn't it be fun to have a bigger tank so I could have more fish. Well happy freakin Mothers Day here's a new tank to do with your kids. Great, so I have been putting Peter off for a few months now but it's driving me crazy so today I decide to get with it. We went with a whole beach theme, nice pale gravel, tropical decorations. As I wash the gravel I note and point out to Peter all the cool little shells and pieces of Coral in it. Just like on the beach. Once I get all the water in (Like ten buckets later) I'm reading the instructions to something or the other and It hits me I've read something before about using coral in a freshwater tank. Oh Shit, not good for fresh water makes it too hard. So now I have to take all the water and gravel out and start again. I wanted to go outside and scream. I do like the fish don't get me wrong but it's getting expensive and I really have better things to do like laundry and dishes.
I'm going to bed now maybe I'll tackle it tomorrow maybe I won't.

How can a kid throw up so much?
What a week! Peter has been throwing up off and on for 5 days. In between he seems to be getting better but then usually after he goes to sleep it hits him (and the floor and the sheets and usually me).
Wednesday He puked at school when some kid spit chewed up carrots on the picnic table and was drawing with them-eww. Then he was just feeling yucky, sore throat and tummy ache. Declined a movie with Grandma? Who would have thought that he would skip a movie?
He seemed better on Friday. We ate Mcdonalds for dinner Burger for Peter, nuggets for Morgan, neither had much appetite but both polished off their chocolate milk. By 1030 that night Morgan had filled his bed end to end but managed to miss his cherished blankie and teddy. He needed a hair wash and a cuddle. He threw up three more times. After Morgan went to bed Peter started up again too. then they tag teamed me for the next few hours, Morgan just fussy but Peter throwing up.
Dan was throwing in Red deer Saturday and we planned to go watch. I waited until the kids got up to assess the situation. Morgan was right as rain-pigged out on breakfast. Peter seemed somewhat better too. I chalked it up to bad chocolate milk (and Peter mending from his previous illness) We went to Red Deer had a great time.
Dan's sister Lisa came from Sask. with her family too.
Dan's sister Lisa came from Sask. with her family too. They didn't eat much dinner but I figured it was just tired from a big day. Well poor Peter started up again after he went to bed. Changed his sheets three times. Dan had gone on to Edmonton for his next competition so I was all alone. Sometime after midnight Peter went to sleep but when he got up the next morning he started up again and threw up all morning. My friend Gina brought us some Pedialyte and I got him to get some down. He stopped again at noon.
Dan came home early, Peter ate a bit of soup and went to bed only to start up again around 11 pm. I managed to get some Gravol into him and he slept all night, swears to me that he did not wake up to throw up at all-good drug Gravol.
Well I stayed home from work today and now he has been pestering me sine 630 am to do stuff when all I want to do is sleep. I'm taking him to school this afternoon!!
